HOW WE WORK

We Are A Leading Oil & Gas Construction

Pipeline Company

Pipelines are an essential component of the infrastructure in industries like energy, oil and gas, water supply, and even transportation. The construction of a pipeline involves several stages and requires careful planning, engineering, and coordination. That is where Fig Tree Energy Services comes in. Here is a general description of our pipeline construction steps:

Planning & Design

The first step in pipeline construction is to determine the route of the pipeline. Factors such as terrain, environmental impact, geology, and regulatory requirements are considered during the planning phase.

Detailed engineering designs are prepared, including specifications for the pipe materials, diameter, wall thickness, and other necessary components.

Clearing & Grading

Once the route is finalized, the construction area is cleared of vegetation, rocks, and other obstacles. The terrain is then graded and prepared to accommodate the pipeline. Access roads and temporary construction facilities may be established.

Trenching

Trenching involves excavating a narrow, elongated ditch along the pipeline route. This trench will accommodate the pipe and other associated infrastructure. Excavation methods can vary depending on the terrain and local conditions, including the use of heavy machinery or manual labor.

Pipe Stringing

In this stage, the pipes are transported to the pipeline construction site and laid out along the trench. Specialized equipment, such as cranes or sidebooms, is used to handle and position the pipes correctly. The pipes are typically laid end-to-end and welded together to form a continuous pipeline.

Welding & Inspection

Welders are an essential part of pipeline construction. They preform many welding procedures and join the individual sections of pipe together using welding techniques.

Welding inspectors ensure that the welds meet industry standards and conduct non-destructive testing to verify their quality. X-ray or ultrasonic testing may be performed to detect any defects or imperfections.

Coating & Wrapping

To protect the pipes from corrosion and external damage, they are coated with special coatings and wrapped with materials like polyethylene or fiberglass. These coatings act as a barrier between the pipe and the surrounding environment, preserving the integrity of the pipeline.

Backfilling & Restoration

Once the welding and coating processes are completed, the trench is backfilled with soil, carefully compacted to provide stability and support to the pipeline. The surface is then restored, including reseeding, regrading, and reinstating any disrupted features like roads or structures. This is the last step of a general pipeline construction process

Effective engagement with local communities is a fundamental aspect when it comes to pipeline projects. By actively involving and listening to the concerns of the communities, these projects can address potential issues and ensure that the benefits are fairly distributed among all stakeholders.

Striving to strike a delicate balance between meeting energy demands, preserving the environment, and safeguarding the well-being of the communities directly impacted by the construction is vital. Responsible and sustainable pipeline development requires careful consideration of environmental impacts, as well as fostering positive social and economic outcomes within the community.

Through transparent communication and collaboration, these projects can be carried out in a manner that respects the interests of all involved parties and contributes to the overall welfare of the region.
